Cork City Council is beginning a new service for the collection of household dry recyclables starting in August 2004. At no additional charge, recyclables will be collected from households once a fortnight on the same day, but not necessarily at the same time, as the normal refuse collection.
Households whose accounts are in order will be provided with clear plastic bags into which the following may be placed:
The bags should be presented for collection every second week and placed beside the wheel bin.
This service is being introduced across the city on a phased basis and households included in the first phase of the recyclables collection scheme will receive an information pack in due course.
This is a timely and worthwhile service that will aid Cork City Council in achieving its targets for recycling. We would therefore encourage households to participate in the scheme and to support Cork City Council’s drive towards a cleaner, less wasteful environment.
For further information on this service, please contact the Environment Section. See details below.
