Cork City Council is delighted to announce the public launch of the Connect Cork™ initiative. The launch took place in conjunction with the Chorus launch of cablenet broadband at 11am on Thursday 8th September in the Millennium Hall, City Hall, Cork. The objective of the initiative is to help increase awareness, understanding and demand for Information Communications Technology (ICT) among consumers and businesses in Cork.
Connect Cork™ is a Cork City Council initiative, and the main sponsors are Chorus, Sage and Thomas Crosbie Holdings.
The Lord Mayor of Cork, Councillor Deirdre Clune said:
“The Connect Cork initiative aims to broaden awareness among business and citizens of the advantages of Information and Communications Technology: hardware, software, training and connectivity, which are key drivers of ICT development.”
There are four main events due to take place between now and Christmas.
