Our Services: Recreation, Amenity & Culture
The Plant and Machinery Department is a support service to Cork City Council. It provides a wide range of mechanical and electrical services to the directorates and other service providers. The Department’s objective is to provide these services to the highest technical standards in a cost efficient and effective manner. The types of service provided are:
The Department has a staff of twenty six made up of an engineer, technicians, administration staff, craftsmen and general operatives. The department has been involved in the following projects during 2002:
Installation of new liaison office in Knocknaheeny
Fire Departments CAMP installation project
Hand over of Electrical and Mechanical Services from the building contractor for the Museum extension at Fitzgeralds Park
Handover of new pumping stations from Cork Main Drainage contractor to City Council
New Civic Office Project
Setting up of a Helpdesk to co-ordinate electrical and mechanical services repairs.
