Major Sports Grants (Over €15k)
The Scheme is not intended as an alternative to the Department of Arts, Sport & Tourism Sports Capital Grant Scheme or other sources of funding, but will complement this scheme, possibly helping with local contributions to satisfy criteria of other funding agencies, assisting with funding where certain works are not funded by the Department Scheme etc. Some large scale works which do not qualify for national funding may be considered for a multi-annual funding commitment.

(vi) Be located within the City Boundary or provide evidence that the majority of those using the facility live within the City area.
(vii) Undertake to refund the City Council for any grant given if the facility changes use or ceases to operate.
Minor Sports Grants (Under 15k)
This Scheme will complement existing sources of funding where possible and allow for minor capital grants towards enhancement of premises, pitches etc., as well as allowing for the purchase of non personal sports equipment that will be used for at least five years.
The same criteria apply here as for major Grants, except the length of lease/licence requirements is five years.
