Cork City Council now offers two payment options to motorists who wish to use the on-street parking facilities provided in Cork City. These are:

Parking Discs

Parking Discs can be purchased in many retail outlets in Cork City and surrounding areas.
On arrival in the parking bay fully scratch off appropriate panels (a pinhole dot will not suffice) on the disc – year- month – day – hour – minute (to the nearest next five minutes of the arrival time).
Attach the distinctly marked disc to the inside of the vehicle (hang over side window nearest kerb) so that it can be easily read from outside the vehicle.
Each disc costs €1.80 and is valid for a period of 1 or 2 hours depending on the street on which you park (see on-street time plates for details of permitted parking duration).
On expiry of the parking disc, the vehicle must be removed and not parked on the same street for at least one hour. The use of more than one disc or replacement of discs is not permitted. It is not permitted to use Park by Phone to extend your parking period if you have just parked on a street using a parking disc.
Unexpired discs can be used at other disc parking places (not on the same street) within the remaining time limit.

Park by Phone:

Motorists must register with the Park by Phone service (027-54000 or www.parkbyphone.ie) and display the barcode sticker provided on their windscreen.
On arrival in the parking bay dial the Park by Phone telephone number (0818- 220101) and register your parking period by following the instructions provided.
Each parking period costs €1.50 plus the cost of the phone call and is valid for a period of 1 or 2 hours depending on the street on which you park (see on-street time plates for details of permitted parking duration).
Before the expiry of the parking period, the motorist can extend their parking period by a predefined period (1 hour in both 2 and 1 hour parking areas) at a cost of €1.50. After the expiry of this extended period the vehicle must be removed and not parked on the same street for at least one hour. It is not permitted to use a parking disc to extend your parking period if you have just parked on a street using Park by Phone.
Unexpired parking periods cannot be used at other disc parking places within the remaining time limit left in the parking period.

How do I register?

Register with us by completing, signing and returning the form in the registration pack.
Attach your unique Park by Phone sticker provided to the inside of your car's front windscreen.

How do I use the system?

Park in any available space in a participating town/city.
Dial Park by Phone and when requested input your PIN code and street number for the street which is displayed on local signage e.g 1001 - South Mall.
The system will provide the option to remind you by text message (SMS) when your parking time is 10 minutes from expiry.
To confirm the transaction press the No. 1 on your phone and hang-up - that's it!
A FREE text (SMS) receipt will be automatically sent to your mobile listing all parking transaction details.

How do I pay for parking?

Payment is made according to your selected option when registering -

credit/debit card
direct debit
pre-paid business account

How much do I pay for parking?

As an introductory offer parking will be charged at €1.50 per parking period. The only additional cost is for the phonecall to Park by Phone.

How will my account be debited if I pay by Credit Card/Direct Debit?

If you use the credit card/direct debit payment option,€30 advance payments will be automatically debited from your account when your Park by Phone credit balance falls below €5.

How much does it cost to make a call to Park by Phone?

The charge will be the same as a normal mobile to land line call - Park by Phone does not add any additional charges to the cost of the call. The cost depends on who your mobile phone operator is and the service you have subscribed to. Call duration should normally be less than 1 minute. Optional SMS reminder will cost 10 cent + VAT.

Can Park by Phone be used with any mobile phone (operator)?

Yes. Park by Phone is network independent. You can use the service regardless of which mobile phone operator you have signed with.
