Rennes

The links between Cork and Rennes www.ville-rennes.fr have been developing each year since the two cities were twinned in 1982. The participation of Cork in the Rennes International Fair each year forms the cornerstone on which so many activities are built. The city of Rennes makes available to the City Council, free of charge, space for the Stand and also provides the necessary technical services for the mounting of the Stand. The Fair provides a forum not just for bringing of information about Cork's tourist and business potential, but also provides opportunities for exploring ways in which the links between the two cities can be further developed.  

Some of the other twinning activities, which take place, are as follows:

• Students from UCC study in Rennes.
• Students from Rennes study in Cork under the Erasmus Programme.
• A number of exchanges at the level of Lecturer under the Erasmus Programme have been arranged.
• Sports events involving a Rennes business School and C.I.T. have been established.
• Second-level School exchanges are continuing.
