Bóthar was the official designated charity of A Cork Christmas Celebration on December 2nd, 3rd, 4th and have a special stand in the Grand Parade where members of the public can learn about the valuable work Bóthar do in Africa.
Clodagh and Cuddles, two very special dairy goats will visit the stand each day from 11am-4pm and are looking forward to meeting everyone before they fly off to their new families in Uganda in the New Year.
The goats have been reared by Dan Martin from Glenville who each year receives two baby goats from local farmers which he rears until they are twelve months old and ready to go to Uganda.
These goats make a significant difference to families in Uganda as on average a goat will produce one gallon of milk a day which can help support and feed a family. To further assist local communities every family that receives a goat must give the first female offspring to a neighbour that is trained in how to look after a goat.
