This weekend, Cork Penny Dinners is the official designated charity of A Cork Christmas Celebration and will have a special stand on the Grand Parade where people can learn about one of Cork’s oldest independent caring organisations. Serving meals to people in need in Cork since the 1840’s, Cork Penny Dinners serves 80 meals a day and up to 140 a day on weekends. During this weekend, Cork Penny Dinners will be selling a special Christmas CD of festive favourites produced by Cork Airport Singers to raise funds for this much deserved charity and they will be helped at their stand on Friday by Dana Rosemary Scallon visiting their Cork offices on the day.

The entertainment continues with free music performances taking place on the Grand Parade with choirs and group performing for their charity of choice. From 11.30am-8pm on Saturday there will be performances from groups such as Carrigaline Gospel Choir, Heron Perch Singers, Jingles Bells, Voices of Cork and Phizerpfonics.

The festivies continue on Sunday from 11am to 7.30pm with performances from Mayfield Brass Band, City of Cork Male Voice Choir and Barony Choir.
