The Finance Department through this section administers the Insurance Portfolio for the Cork City Council.

This Section ensures that:

• All Council property is adequately insured against fire, theft and damage and other potential liabilities.

• All Council Vehicles (owned and hired) are adequately insured and that all potential liabilities are covered.

• The City Council is substantially self-insured for public and employer liability.

• The Department also provides a risk management advisory service for other directorates.

This section is also responsible for the Defence of all Court Actions within appropriate jurisdictions.
