Cork City Council has been informed by the Department of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government that the Conservation Grants Scheme 2011 will not be going ahead this year. This is due to a significant reduction in budgetary funding. The situation will be reviewed again in 2012.
Cork City Council administers a conservation grants scheme for protected structures, which is funded by the Department of Heritage, Environment and Local Government.
Record of Protected Structures
This is an annual grants scheme that has been run since 2000 and is awarded to the owners of buildings on the basis of a Scheme of Priorities adopted by Cork City Council. The aim of the scheme is to encourage good custodianship of architectural assets and to promote best conservation practice.

Cork City Council has shown a strong track record in the delivery of this grants scheme and has been awarded significant funds by the Department over the 10 year period. The grants scheme has so far supported works to a wide range of protected structures:
The objective of the scheme is to assist the owner of a protected (listed) structure to undertake works necessary to secure its conservation.
Applications are invited for the Conservation Grant Scheme by the end of February each year. Applications received later than this date will not be considered.

Cork City Council was awarded €104,000 in 2010 by the Department, and has made preliminary offers to assist in the repair of the following protected structures to the value of the allocation:
