Road >> Cork City Council has undertaken construction of a ring road system, to improve access to the city by allowing regional traffic to by-pass the centre.
A key component, the Jack Lynch Tunnel, opened in 2000. The complete South Ring Road will be in place by 2005.
Rail and Bus>> Railways have a prominent role in the city's development plans. Suburban rail corridors will drive industrial and residential expansion with four new stations for satellite towns and another in the city. (http://www.irishrail.ie/).
Bus Éireann operates the city’s bus network with hourly services to main urban centres throughout Ireland. (http://www.buseireann.ie/).

Air Travel>> Among the fastest growing regional airports in Europe, Cork International Airport is undergoing a €140m expansion boosting capacity to 5 million passengers per annum.
More than 40 airlines provide regular scheduled and passenger services including direct daily flights to Dublin, London, Paris, Amsterdam, Frankfurt and Dusseldorf. (http://www.corkairport.ie/).
Sea>> Cork's splendid natural harbour is one of the finest in Europe and its impressive deepwater facilities are a key economic driver in the Munster region. Proximity to shipping lanes makes the Port of Cork Ireland's natural gateway to Europe and its fastest growing container port.
The Port of Cork handles all five shipping modes with an annual throughput of approximately 9.5 million tonnes and, over the nest 15 years, this is expected to increase to a throughput in the region of 17 million tonnes. ( http://www.portofcork.ie/)
