City of Cork VEC

The City of Cork VEC (Vocational Education Committee) provides around 4,500 full-time student places each year at three Further Education Colleges:-

• College of Commerce
• St. John's Central College
• Coláiste Stiofáin Naofa

Courses at these colleges span a wide range of subjects. Generally, these are one, two or three year courses. All are certified by the Further Education & Training Awards Council (FETAC) and/or by Professional Bodies/Institutes and reviewed annually for relevance to the workplace. While most full-time students attend the Colleges immediately after their Leaving Certificate (e.g. Final Secondary Level/High School Examination), up to 40% are Adult Learners.
