Introduction

Inevitably in business, location is all important. But different kinds of businesses have diverse priorities. For some, there may be a need to be near sea, road, rail, or air links; while knowledge-based businesses often prefer to locate in clusters - close to research institutions and centres of higher learning. Whatever your particular needs are, Cork City can help you find the right place to make your vision come alive.

Cork has a plentiful supply of land designated for development purposes. Among the range of sites specially dedicated to industrial development some have been established by Ireland's national inward investment body (IDA Ireland), in conjunction with local authorities. Others are privately owned facilities. This is a brief guide to the type of sites currently available. Four additional sites are now at development stage including a major re-development of the Docklands along the River Lee, east of the City Centre.
