IDA Ireland has developed Business and Industrial Parks at the following locations (www.idaireland.com) :

Ringaskiddy >> Located at Cork's sheltered deepwater port in Europe's finest natural harbour, this large industrial estate caters for water-using process industry and enjoys Freeport Status. The location is particularly suited to Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology and Healthcare enterprises.

Cork Business & Technology Park >> This site at Model Farm Road offers high technology industry the opportunity to avail of a location that is both prestigious and convenient. Just one mile from University College Cork, it's also within walking distance of IDA Ireland's regional office, the Cork Institute of Technology and the offices of the national training agency (FÁS). Companies based here include Boston Scientific, Pilz Electronics and Silicon Software Systems.

Office architecture and construction

Kilbarry >> Companies operating in the Information Communications Technology business are advised to investigate this purpose built development in the northern part of Cork City at Kilbarry. The site covers an area of 48 hectares and already accommodates some well established names such as Option Wireless Ltd., Yves Rocher Ltd., Flextronics International Cork BV.

Carrigtwohill >> A development covering some 48 hectares situated 8 miles due west of Cork City. This particular park will appeal to the Healthcare Industry companies interested in establishing a base in the Metropolitan Cork area. It is already a popular location with investors. Companies established there are Amersham Health, Fournier, Millipore Ireland Ltd., Stryker Orthopaedics, Stryker Instruments and Transistor Devices Inc.

Enterprise Ireland and Cork City Council both supported the establishment of the following facility:

National Software Centre (NSC) Campus >> One of Cork City's leading innovation centres, the campus - which currently provides 5,000 sq. m. of office space - will extend in its final phase to encompass another eight buildings in an arc-shaped configuration.

The completed campus will provide some 40,000 sq.m.of world class, third generation offices with broadband infrastructure. (www.nsc-campus.com)

Private companies have also developed Business Parks and significant commerical space in the following areas of Cork:

Cork Airport Business Park >>  Although adjacent to Cork Airport, this private sector development is only a 10 minute drive from the city centre. The site covers some 20 hectares with carefully designed high specification buildings available for sale or lease. Now in its second phase, this development already houses familiar names like Pfizer, Black & Decker and Motorola and a significant expansion is planned. (www.corkairpark.com)
