St. Finnbarre’s Cathedral
Just 5 minutes walk from the City Centre, St Finnbarre’s Cathedral is on the site chosen by St Finnbarr, the patron saint of Cork, to found his monastic school in 650AD. The Cathedral, French Gothic in style, was designed by William Burgess of London in the mid 1800s. The Cathedral is currently undergoing a restoration programme and the development of an interpretative centre in the crypt.
